Samanalayaya 2025, Sunera Foundation’sannual drama festival which celebrates the talents of young differently-abled participants from our performing arts workshops across the island, concluded with its grand finale on November 4th at the Lionel Wendt Memorial Theatre in Colombo.

Leading up to the Grand Finals, nine regional drama festivals were held, showcasing the creativity and dedication ofnearly 1,000 participants from Sunera workshops island wide. At each regional festival, workshop teams presented plays and dance items conceptualised/scripted, and directed by Sunera trainers and brought to life through months of rehearsal by the participants. A panel of judges evaluated all performances, selecting the best performances to be showcased at the finals in Colombo.

Top three dramas selected for the finalsof Samanalayaya 2025 were produced from Sunera workshops in Kuliyapitiya,Matara and Nattandiya. Additionally, three dance performances from participants attached to Sunera workshops in Maharagama, Dambulla and Nattandiya were alsofeatured in this year’s finals.

This year’s Grand Finals was supported by the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka through a Direct Aid Program Grant. The t-shirts for the regional drama festival were sponsored by Aditi-Women's Fashion Apparel brand.
